Mazda has announced the all-new third-generation CX-5, arriving in New Zealand in Spring 2026. The popular SUV receives updated styling, new technology, increased comfort, and a simplified four-model range.
Every CX-5 will feature Mazda’s Skyactiv-G 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 132kW and 242Nm, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive.
Drivers can choose between Normal, Sport and Off-Road modes using Mazda Intelligent Drive Select (Mi-Drive).
Inside, the new CX-5 offers a quieter and more refined cabin along with upgraded technology, including:
– 12.9″ or 15.6″ infotainment display
– Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
– Digital driver display and available head-up display
– Wireless phone charging

CX-5 Touring
Entry model featuring 17″ alloy wheels, LED headlights, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone connectivity and a 12.9″ infotainment display.
CX-5 SP
Adds 19″ alloy wheels, power tailgate, leatherette seats, electric driver’s seat, heated steering wheel and head-up display.
CX-5 Homura
Includes panoramic sunroof, leather seats, heated rear seats, Bose 12-speaker sound system and a 360° view monitor.
CX-5 Takami
Range-topping model with a larger 15.6″ display, paddle shifters, ventilated front seats, hands-free tailgate and exclusive Sport Tan leather interior.
