The first local details of the all-new Mazda CX-6e, marking another major step in the brand’s growing electrified vehicle lineup in New Zealand.
Set to arrive in Armstrong’s Mazda towards the end of 2026, the all-new Mazda CX-6e combines Japanese craftsmanship, advanced EV technology, and Mazda’s evolving Kodo – Soul of Motion design philosophy in a bold new electric SUV package.
Mazda CX-6e Brings Striking Electric SUV Design
The all-new Mazda CX-6e introduces what Mazda describes as a “Soulful Futuristic Modern” design theme, blending sculptural styling with aerodynamic efficiency.
Designed to stand out in the increasingly competitive electric SUV segment, the CX-6e features sleek proportions, a flowing silhouette, and a strong athletic stance. Signature Mazda design elements include an illuminated front wing motif, animated lighting sequences during locking and charging, aerodynamic front vents, floating D-pillars, and slim digital side mirrors.
A long 2,902mm wheelbase and short overhangs help maximise both interior space and road presence, while standard 21-inch alloy wheels further enhance the premium appearance.
Electric Performance and Driving Range
New Zealand models of the Mazda CX-6e will be offered in a single high-spec Takami grade powered by a 78kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery.
The rear-wheel-drive electric SUV delivers:
Fast charging capability is another highlight, with the battery able to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes using a 195kW DC fast charger.
Mazda says the CX-6e has been engineered to deliver smooth acceleration, responsive handling, and refined long-distance comfort.
Spacious and Premium Interior
Inside, the Mazda CX-6e focuses on comfort, wellbeing, and modern connectivity.
The cabin features a wide illuminated dashboard design, a panoramic insulated glass sunroof, and premium Maztex synthetic leather upholstery available in either full black or an Oyster White and black combination.
Practicality has also been prioritised, with:
The combination of spaciousness and premium finishes positions the CX-6e as a compelling option for families and EV buyers seeking both luxury and versatility.
Advanced Smart Cockpit Technology
Technology plays a central role in the all-new Mazda CX-6e.
The dashboard is dominated by an ultra-wide 26-inch touchscreen display with a customisable dual-split layout, allowing both the driver and passenger to access personalised information and entertainment.
Additional highlights include:
Mazda says the digital side mirrors also contribute to improved aerodynamics and efficiency while offering a wider field of vision compared with traditional mirrors.
