The Mazda 6e is $58,990 plus on-road costs. New Zealand gets one fully equipped Takami grade, so there is no options list to work through.
The Mazda 6e is built in China through Mazda’s long-standing partnership with Changan Automobile. The design is Mazda’s own, and the suspension, steering and brakes on New Zealand cars were tuned by Mazda Research Europe for European and Australasian roads.
It is here now. The Mazda 6e launched in New Zealand in September 2026 and is available to view and test drive at Armstrong’s Mazda Botany, 279 Ti Rakau Drive, Auckland.
The 6e shares its electric platform with Changan, Mazda’s joint-venture partner in China, where the car is sold as the Mazda EZ-6. The body, cabin and chassis tuning are Mazda work. The same platform underpins the Mazda CX-6e electric SUV.
Up to 560km on the WLTP combined cycle from its 78kWh battery. DC fast charging from 10 to 80% takes about 24 minutes on a 195kW charger.
