Armstrong’s is preparing to welcome a bold new name to New Zealand’s growing electric vehicle market, with Arcfox set to arrive in dealerships from next month.

As the premium EV brand of BAIC Group, one of China’s largest and longest-established automotive manufacturers, Arcfox brings a fresh approach to electric mobility with stylish design, advanced technology, and strong value for Kiwi drivers looking to make the move to electric.

Founded in 1958, BAIC has grown into a major global automotive group, with Arcfox launched in 2017 as its dedicated premium electric vehicle brand. The arrival of Arcfox in New Zealand expands the BAIC offering locally, giving customers access to a range of fully electric vehicles designed to combine innovation, comfort, and everyday practicality.

Leading the launch lineup is the all-new Arcfox T1, a compact crossover SUV that blends the versatility of an SUV with the agility and efficiency of a modern urban EV. Designed with a raised ride height, spacious cabin, and contemporary styling, the T1 has been developed to suit both city driving and everyday family life.

The Arcfox T1 is powered by a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery and offers a driving range of more than 300km (WLTP), delivering the confidence and practicality many New Zealand motorists are looking for in an EV.

Armstrong’s says the brand stands out by offering premium-level technology and intelligent driving features without the premium-level price tag.

Customers can expect a strong suite of advanced safety and driver assistance technologies, including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Pedestrian Collision Warning (PCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), along with front, side, and curtain airbags.

Inside, the T1 has been designed to deliver a premium ownership experience, with a spacious and comfortable interior paired with advanced operating systems and smart technology features typically associated with much more expensive EV models.

The Arcfox T1 will launch with a special introductory price of $34,990, representing a saving of $2,000 off the recommended retail price for a limited time.

With interest in electric vehicles continuing to grow and initial stock expected to be limited, Armstrong’s expects strong early demand for the new model. Customers can now pre-order and reserve their own Arcfox with a $99 deposit, securing priority access to incoming stock and the opportunity to choose their preferred vehicle ahead of arrival.

The Arcfox T1 will also be backed by a six-year / 200,000km warranty, offering additional peace of mind for drivers making the switch to electric.

More Arcfox models are expected to join the New Zealand lineup shortly after launch as the brand expands its presence in the local market.
