The elegant, all-new Mazda 6e has been confirmed to launch in New Zealand.

The fully electric Mazda 6e was unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in early 2025, launching in major European markets throughout 2025.  From the second half of 2026 the Mazda 6e will begin appearing on New Zealand roads.

David Hodge, Mazda New Zealand managing director, says the Mazda 6e continues the proud heritage of the Mazda6 name.  “All generations of the Mazda6 have been held in high regard in New Zealand.  The model is known for striking design, superb comfort and high levels of driving enjoyment.  The Mazda 6e continues this theme whilst offering new levels of technology and a dynamic EV powertrain to our customers.”

The Mazda 6e introduces the next evolution of Mazda’s design philosophy, “Kodo: Soul of Motion”. Its smooth, flowing lines and bold features give the car a strong yet refined presence. The low roofline and short-deck coupé silhouette offer a sporty look while keeping the functionality of a 5-door hatchback.

The car’s distinctive design details include a bold lighting signature, frameless doors, and integrated handles, which create a seamless and modern appearance. At the rear, the iconic four-cylinder light design and an electric spoiler add a touch of dynamism.

The five-door hatchback’s driving dynamics have been fine-tuned to inspire confidence and offer lasting driving pleasure. A driver-focused cockpit layout and ergonomically designed seats ensure clarity, comfort and control, even on longer journeys.
