The C10 has a clean, understated shape. Slim automatic LED headlights sit low in the front, the door handles remain flush with the body until the car is unlocked, and the rear wiper is concealed beneath the spoiler. Three defined lines run along the flanks to give the profile some tension, and 20 inch alloy wheels fill the arches. The result is an SUV that looks more expensive than it is. The colour range includes Jade Green, Canopy Grey and Tundra Grey alongside Pearl White and Metallic Black.
The cabin is uncluttered. A 14.6 inch central touchscreen handles most functions, a 10.25 inch display sits behind the steering wheel, and physical controls are kept to a minimum. The seats are finished in silicone leather with OEKO-TEX certification, which is durable and easy to clean. A flat floor gives rear passengers a good deal of legroom, and the panoramic glass roof with its electric sunshade keeps the cabin bright. Boot capacity is 485 litres, extending to 1,645 litres with the rear seats folded.
Twenty inch alloys on 245/45 tyres, with a trident hub design unique to the C10.
The door handles present as you unlock the car and retract once you are moving, trimming any drag on the open road.
A power socket runs directly off the drive battery. Camping gear, power tools or the fridge during an outage, the C10 can run them.
Ultra Hybrid owners choose how the generator behaves: EV+, EV, Fuel or Power+. Around town, most will never hear the engine start.
Pre-heat the cabin before leaving the house, schedule a cheaper overnight charge, or open the tailgate from across the car park. Your phone is also the key.
Software updates arrive over the air, in the driveway, with no workshop visit. This is a car that improves with age.
Range depends on the version. The standard electric C10 is rated at 420km WLTP, the Long Range at 510km and the AWD at 437km. The Ultra Hybrid has an electric range of 145km, with the petrol generator extending the combined range to more than 970km.
The Ultra Hybrid is a range-extender electric vehicle. The electric motor drives the rear wheels at all times, and the 1.5 litre petrol engine operates only as a generator to recharge the battery when charge is low. It drives like an electric vehicle but can be refuelled at any petrol station, which suits longer trips around New Zealand.
Yes. The C10 holds a five-star ANCAP safety rating. A full complement of airbags and 17 driver assistance functions are standard on every version.
The C10 is covered by a six-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty and six years of roadside assistance, whichever comes first in each case.
